Questions for your situation
What is the practical difference between ISO 10001 and ISO 10002?
ISO 10001 focuses on designing customer-facing conduct and service commitments. ISO 10002 guides the internal handling of product and service complaints. A delivery promise belongs to the first; investigating dissatisfaction when it is missed belongs to the second. They can be connected without being treated as identical functions.
Is promising the same unconditional delivery time to every customer appropriate?
One promise may be unrealistic when stock, location, order timing and transport capacity differ. Explain clearly which products and conditions it covers. Do not hide decision-relevant exceptions in vague footnotes. Align commitments with operating capacity and provide an accessible route and remedy approach when they are missed.
What if dealers or external support staff do not know the company's commitment?
Provide current wording, scope and authority limits to those implementing it. Define when a central decision is required. Distinguish a dealer's additional promise from the shared company commitment. Record and resolve conflicting customer information; editing the website alone does not change practice across every channel.
How can the effectiveness of a commitment be measured?
Compare the promised condition with actual results. For support responses, track target and actual times, delay reasons and customer effects. Do not select only successful cases. Review remedy costs and process workload when commitments are missed to assess whether the arrangement remains practical.
Can the ISO 10001 name be used to restrict customer rights?
No. Reliance on guidance does not replace applicable consumer or contract law. Distinguish mandatory rights from voluntary additional promises. Clarify the basis and output of any external assessment. The standard's name must not be presented as public approval or authority to settle every dispute.
What happens to existing customers when a commitment changes?
Assess the effective date, covered transactions and effects on existing contracts. Keep old and new versions identifiable. Review notification or consent needs under applicable contracts and law. Compare any assessment programme's renewal and mark-use conditions with the changed scope as well.
