Heat-pump ErP and energy label: establish model and application

Provide heat-pump type, use, rated capacity, operating temperatures, climate/application, combination or package configuration, supplier and technical performance data.

Discuss your scope

Choose the correct heating product rules

Space heating, water heating and air heating/cooling may follow different product measures; the sales name “heat pump” does not determine one universal label or calculation.

Map applicable ecodesign, energy-labelling and other product obligations separately. Reconcile seasonal efficiency, capacities, sound data, declared conditions, technical documentation, product information and actual label; determine relevant EPREL supplier/model tasks. An efficiency label does not replace electrical, EMC or other applicable conformity duties.

Do not transfer a label across operating conditions

Conditional case: a low-temperature result is copied to another model and presented as performance at a different application temperature. Compare test identity, calculation inputs and claimed climate/application; obtain justified correction or additional evidence. For a package, establish real components and package calculation rather than using the heat generator label alone.

QRS may consider evidence comparison and coordination within actual technical competence and agreed product scope. It claims no regulatory, accredited-laboratory or label approval authority and offers no management-system consultancy here. Supplier and manufacturer retain their declarations, data and registration duties. No energy class, acceptance or completion date is guaranteed for unresolved evidence.

Identify the regulated heater rather than the sales name

For relevant hydronic space and combination heaters, Regulation 813/2013 covers rated output up to 400 kW and Regulation 811/2013 energy labelling up to 70 kW, subject to their scope and exclusions. Air-to-air and water-heating products can follow different measures. Identify the indoor/outdoor combination and declared functions before choosing the required data and label.

Check package inputs and supplier responsibilities

A seasonal efficiency class cannot be inferred from one operating point. For the relevant package formats, Commission guidance uses the medium-temperature class, with specified low-temperature exceptions. Reconcile component identifiers, controls and calculation inputs with the actual package. Supplier information, label and applicable EPREL tasks remain the responsible operator’s duties; registration is not third-party approval or a guarantee of building performance.

Questions before commissioning work

Can the heat-generator label be used as the package label?

Not automatically. Establish the actual package components and applicable calculation and format. A generator label alone does not describe the whole package.

What determines review time and cost?

Functions, model combinations, declared applications, available performance records and necessary corrections or tests determine the work. Incomplete data cannot support a guaranteed class or approval date.
