QRS QualityISO/IEC 15504 SPICE Training
Read the process assessment model, examined scope and evidence together. Training should discuss not only the numerical result but also the projects for which that result can be supported.
Define the scope correctly
Do two projects using the same tools have the same process capability?
Shared tools do not demonstrate identical practice. Examine how requirements, changes, tests and decision records are used. Project size and risks may also differ. Training should compare two examples using the same templates but providing different traceability, showing the difference between having a tool and achieving the process purpose.
Can an old ISO 15504 report be converted directly into a result under a new model?
Compare model structure, process scope, criteria and assessment methods. Matching numbers alone does not establish a new result. Determine which earlier evidence remains usable and identify gaps. Training should explain that withdrawal of ISO 15504-2 and acceptance conditions for an existing contract or report are separate matters.
Are records still needed when everyone interviewed says the process is implemented?
Support statements with suitable work products and observations. Investigate representativeness and scope limits when evidence conflicts. One person’s account does not demonstrate practice across every project. Training should connect interview questions to records and defensible conclusions, leaving unverified areas clearly identified.
