Questions for your situation
What should be demonstrated when final inspection cannot fully verify a process outcome?
Explain which characteristics final inspection actually verifies. Consider appropriate validation where later tests cannot reveal all outcomes or destroy the product. Connect equipment, methods, acceptance criteria and reassessment conditions to records. Retaining an old report does not prove current suitability after a product or process change.
Can a traceability exercise rely only on dispatch lists?
Dispatch lists show distribution, but links back to critical components and production records may also be needed. Follow a sampled lot or serial number through materials, production, acceptance and distribution. Required depth depends on the device and regulations. Shared components across families make identification of all affected devices particularly important.
Does quality system certification scope verify a device's regulatory class?
The scope describes assessed activities; it is not itself a classification decision. Classification requires a separate rationale based on intended use and applicable legislation. Application review checks alignment between system scope and design, production and servicing activities. Product approval and quality system certification must not be presented as the same output.
What evidence is needed when a critical supplier changes just before the audit?
Provide the change rationale, supplier evaluation, affected products and risk assessment together. Connect acceptance criteria, necessary test or validation results and initial production records. The audit date cannot substitute for verification work that has not occurred. Missing critical evidence may affect additional assessment and the scope decision timetable.
Is training always an adequate corrective action in a CAPA file?
Training may suit a genuine knowledge-related root cause. It does not repair a defective fixture, ambiguous acceptance limit, software version problem or supplier deviation. Show how the action addresses the cause and define effectiveness criteria. Evaluate recurrence, process results or a suitable monitoring period rather than attendance alone.
Which date should be tracked when quality system and product certificates expire at different times?
Track each document's scope, issuer and validity conditions separately. Renewing the quality system certificate does not automatically extend a product certificate. Map device families, markets, surveillance and notification duties in the certificate register. Assess effects of suspension under contracts and legislation; comparing dates alone is insufficient.
