Assessment follows the complete inputs and relevant production conditions under the selected programme. Evidence should relate to particular products and versions rather than a general company statement.
Analysis concerns specific substances or markers, not the entire source and production history. Assess materials, suppliers and process evidence together and define the product represented by the sample. A favourable result does not provide unlimited acceptance of unexamined aids or other programme conditions.
Check the programme output and approved product list. Only selected products of a brand may have been assessed; other models are not automatically included. Match manufacturing locations and brand permissions too. Customer claims should reflect the certificate's actual boundaries.
Necessary information may be shared confidentially with the assessment body. Complete uncertainty about sources, justified only as a trade secret, may prevent a reliable decision. Assess alternative evidence under programme conditions. Do not assign definitive vegan status to an unresolved material.
Examine the recycled source's composition and traceability. An environmental characteristic does not establish absence of animal-derived inputs. Assess binders, coatings and blended constituents too. Explain which evidence supports continued use of the claim after a material change.
Each requires its own evidence. Vegan conformity does not automatically guarantee absence of allergen contamination. Complete product-specific allergen and labelling checks separately. Avoid presentation that encourages consumers to understand the two claims as equivalent.
Suppliers, origins, processes or programme conditions may have changed. Compare actual production records with the approved material list. Check correction of earlier findings and continued support for the claim. An unchanged product name does not establish unchanged technical conditions.
