Questions for your situation
Which classification values must refer to the same design?
Verify PS, design temperature, volume or nominal diameter, fluid properties and equipment type together. Conflicting catalogue, drawing, label and calculation values undermine classification. Do not reduce design limits retrospectively merely to lower the category based on customary operation; use actual intended conditions.
How is a material certificate connected to the part used?
Trace heat or batch identity through purchasing, cutting, manufacturing and relevant welding records. Possessing a certificate does not prove a particular part belongs to it. Explain identification transfer and mix-up prevention. Determine material acceptance and special assessments from the design and selected procedure.
Can a welding procedure qualified for another thickness be used directly?
Check material, thickness, diameter, process and other essential qualification variables. The same process number does not establish coverage of all production. Plan extension or new qualification before manufacturing. Verify applicable PED approvals separately from general welding quality certification.
Who is responsible when the customer selects an assembly's safety accessory?
Define delivery boundaries, design protection needs and accessory suitability. Customer selection does not remove integration assessment. Identify the assembly manufacturer and the stage at which conformity is completed. Contracts and the technical file should describe the same responsibility boundaries.
Can work proceed under the old report after a test leak is repaired?
Assess repair location, method and effects on materials or welds. Determine necessary reinspection and testing. Preserve links between the initial failure, repair and subsequent verification. Retaining only the final positive page may leave manufacturing and assessment history incomplete.
Does the previous file transfer automatically when the notified body changes?
Review the selected procedure and existing approval conditions. Verify the new body's PED notification scope, acceptance of records and further assessment needs. Product procedure changes differ from management-system certificate transfers. Do not assume production and marking may continue unchanged before arrangements are resolved.
Does combining ready-made pressure equipment into a packaged system require further assessment?
Determine whether the combination is an assembly under the legislation and assess integration and protection functions. Component documents are inputs, but do not automatically address interface and operating risks. Define pressure, fluids, use and installation boundaries; select the route from classification and the manufacturer's role.
