Questions for your situation
How is the LVD voltage range checked?
For Directive 2014/35/EU, consider rated voltages of 50–1000 V AC or 75–1500 V DC alongside exclusions. Supply voltage and voltage generated only inside a circuit are different concepts. Examine interactions with other product legislation; one number does not determine the entire conformity route.
Why identify critical components in the technical file?
Fuses, power supplies, insulation and connectors may affect safety. Explain critical characteristics and approval of alternatives. Trace purchasing against the tested design. A parts list containing only stock codes may omit the technical properties needed to establish safety equivalence.
Can a report issued for another brand be used?
Review product identity, technical equivalence, report access rights and manufacturer responsibility. Similar labels are insufficient. Explain the connection between tested hardware and your product, including changes. An own-brand manufacturer cannot automatically transfer conformity responsibilities to the report holder.
Can fault conditions be ignored after normal-operation testing passes?
Applicable requirements and risks may require assessment of other foreseeable conditions. Examine when protective devices operate and how they achieve safe outcomes. One successful functional test does not establish every electrical safety requirement. Develop the test scope alongside intended use.
Can an importer rely only on a certificate without access to technical information?
Assess the importer's applicable verification and cooperation duties. Arrange manufacturer access to declarations, identity and necessary technical information. A general certificate does not resolve unclear model coverage or conformity evidence. Missing information affects quotations, assessment and readiness for market placement.
Does a revised test standard immediately invalidate the old report?
Review technical changes, official harmonised-standard publication and transition dates. Assess whether the design meets current safety requirements. Neither complete retesting nor unlimited acceptance follows automatically. A gap review should identify necessary evidence and file updates.
Which records should be compared after an insulation problem in shipped products?
Identify model, batch, component changes, test conditions and operating environment. Competent personnel should assess effects on other units and necessary corrective market measures. A new passing sample does not validate previous production automatically. Connect complaints to technical risk assessment and production controls.
