Questions for your situation
Is an asset name enough to describe a risk?
The event, weakness, consequences and business context associated with the asset must be understandable. Writing only “server” or “customer data” does not explain the risk being considered. Describe existing controls and uncertainties. A training case should establish a traceable decision from the risk statement to the chosen response.
What if the Statement of Applicability differs from actual access practices?
Compare the declared control with evidence of its implementation, including access approvals, user changes and review records. Simply editing the statement to match current practice does not establish that the risk is acceptable. Address the deficiency and evaluate whether the resulting action is effective.
Does a supplier certificate cover every security condition of a cloud service?
Check the certificate's service, geographical and activity scope. Evaluate your own settings and responsibilities separately. Clarify contracts, supporting services and incident handling. Training should teach participants to use certification as one input while identifying the relevant questions that fall outside its scope.
Is a successful backup message sufficient evidence for business continuity?
The message alone does not demonstrate that data can be restored and used within the required time. Consider restoration trials, integrity and access prerequisites. Information security and continuity objectives can be examined together. Distinguish completion of a technical operation from fulfilment of the business requirement.
Should awareness training and risk assessment training take the same time?
Their tasks differ, so content and practice time may differ too. General users need safe behaviour; system owners need methods, control selection and consistent records. Prior knowledge, case complexity and assessment needs shape the programme. One short course should not be assumed sufficient for every role.
Does a training certificate authorise an employee to use a new system?
Course achievement does not grant access or appointment to a particular system role. The organisation must assess the role's knowledge, skills and access conditions. Add appropriate induction and practical evidence. Record the training's actual scope and review both competence and access when responsibilities change.
