Assessment examines whether planned good practices actually occur and contribute to hazard control. A general hygiene certificate claim must remain distinct from official sector obligations.
Visual checks identify some dirt and practice problems but cannot explain every biological or chemical risk. Select additional methods according to product, equipment and hazards. Define acceptance criteria and responses to failure. No single measurement type is universal evidence for all hygiene risks.
Examine parts, lubricants, fragments and cleanliness. Verify necessary cleaning and restoration of protective arrangements. Technical completion of maintenance does not necessarily establish readiness for food production. Define who authorises restart and what evidence supports the decision.
Assess contamination hazards, product exposure and existing controls together, including frequency and timing. Determine necessary separation or alternative measures from actual risk. Intersecting lines on a layout alone may not explain how the operation is controlled.
Review findings, trends and the organisation's corrections. Doors, stock, waste and building defects may require action beyond the contractor's authority. Track the site's actions. A signed visit record does not prove that identified risks have been resolved.
Check technical basis, activities and product scope. Pharmaceutical or cosmetic GMP assessment does not automatically establish food requirements. Clarify customer evidence and official obligations. Common good practices do not remove sector-specific differences in controls or authority.
Assess contamination risks, equipment cleanability, layout and verification needs. Writing procedures and modifying facilities have different costs. Prioritise implementation according to the gaps. Quotations should identify necessary site work and measurement evidence separately.
