Questions for your situation
How should Ex marking be compared with the technical file?
Match type, group, category, gas or dust use, temperature and other protection information with documents. Labels, drawings and test samples should represent the same configuration. Marking alone does not establish file sufficiency. Reflect any special conditions of use in instructions and equipment selection.
Does component certification replace conformity assessment of the completed equipment?
Review component assessment boundaries and incorporation conditions. Component conformity does not automatically address final-equipment temperature, assembly or interactions. Assess intended use and integration risks separately. Presenting a component document as the complete equipment's certificate misrepresents coverage.
Why do material differences from the tested sample matter?
Materials may affect strength, static electricity, temperature or protection construction. Assess effects on relevant characteristics. Compare supplier declarations with purchasing and manufacturing records. A successful sample report cannot represent all units if serial production differs from the assessed design.
Whose name should the application use when manufacturer and assembler differ?
Identify who places the final product on the market under its name or brand and assumes the manufacturer role. Clarify design control, file access and production responsibilities. Assembly contracts should not conceal that role. Component certificates do not themselves determine the assembly's legal manufacturer.
Are a catalogue and instructions sufficient for file review?
Catalogues describe claims; assessment may also need protection design, risk analysis, critical drawings, materials and tests. Requirements depend on product and procedure. Unclear classification or variants can delay work. Describe the family and differences before quotation to establish the necessary assessment scope.
Is previously manufactured stock automatically releasable after certificate suspension?
Consider the suspension reason, affected products, manufacturing dates and procedure. Production-control problems may also affect stock. Handle conformity claims and marking under the body's conditions and applicable law. Earlier manufacture alone does not establish that market placement remains acceptable.
