amfori BSCI: Define the requested report
amfori BSCI is a programme for assessing and improving social risks at production sites; it is not certification.
Define the requested report
If a buyer asks for a “BSCI certificate”, ask for its member identity, the producer site and the actual report requirement. Record the RSP relationship before choosing preparation work. A report for another address cannot describe the new factory. The first deliverable is a verified request and site boundary, not a promised rating.
Identify who owns the audit request
amfori BSCI is a programme for assessing and improving social risks at production sites; it is not certification. The amfori member holding RSP responsibility requests and approves the audit. A producer should confirm the customer’s membership, ability to hold RSP and platform invitation. A consultancy enquiry or payment cannot replace that authorisation chain.
Match the customer to the actual site
Compare legal name, facility address, production activities, shifts and workforce arrangements with the platform record. Scope example: a buyer requests the main factory’s report, while part of the order is produced in another workshop. Clarify the assessed site and outsourced work with the RSP holder. A report for one address cannot automatically represent another facility or company in the group.
Code of Conduct and preparation
Confirm applicable programme documents and Code of Conduct with the customer/RSP holder. Identify implementation gaps in hours, pay, recruitment, safety and worker involvement. Check the auditing company’s BSCI role in amfori’s current partner directory.
